Please let us introduce ourselves. We are the people of the Bristow Advent Christian Church. On the website you will find
The mission of the Bristow Advent Christian church is to bring people into a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ and to disciple them by the spiritual application of Biblical principles in daily living.
Rev. Russell Carle started ministry in Bristow in July 2013. In pastoral ministry since 1981, he brings experience, compassion and vision to our church. His narrative style of preaching and his passion for the Lord will challenge and encourage you to walk by faith, trusting in the grace of Christ.
Something for Everyone
The world has changed. Children live in all different kinds of homes; the days when you had one set of parents and two sets of grands are history. Perhaps your own memories of childhood are idyllic. Life was simple and straightforward, and your future an exciting prospect.
However, for children today, life is complicated, full of distractions and temptations that confuse them, and family situations are muddled. They hear one thing at school, another at home, and then try to blend them both. Moral absolutes...there are none. Right and wrong...you choose your own.
But across all generations, the needs are the same. The need for security; the need for truth; the need for a place where questions are answered and where one is loved and accepted.
Bristow Advent Christian Church is trying to be that place - through Sunday School where children are taught the truth of the Gospel and given a foundation that will be strong enough for life; through Celebration Place - interactive, active and fun; and through activities with all ages where they are considered a valuable part of the family of God.
Philosophy of Ministry
We believe that God, the Father Who created all things, has revealed Himself to us in the person of Jesus Christ. Through Christ's life, death and resurrection, salvation has been offered as a free gift. When we accept this gift by faith, we become a part of God's Kingdom and participants in the Church of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul said, "God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, and He has given us the Gospel of reconciliation."
We believe that all who accept Christ as Savior and Lord are called to service in the Church. There are no spectators. All of God's people are participants. Every person who makes up the body of Christ is important; men, women and children. All have been gifted by the Holy Spirit for the good of the body and service to Jesus Christ. It is the task of the church to empower the people of God for service to which Jesus has called them.
We take seriously our responsibility to love and serve Jesus Christ, to care for and be responsible for each other, and to care for God's world and its people with Christian love and compassion.
Organization and Affiliation
The organization of our church is congregational in nature which allows decisions to be made by the local body. We have a church board which serves in a representative capacity of the congregation and meets on a quarterly basis. An Executive Committee consisting of the Board Chairman, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Secretary and members of the Trustees meet on a monthly basis.
The Bristow Advent Christian Church is affiliated with our denomination at the Conference level, the Central Advent Christian Mission Society and the Advent Christian General Conference headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina.
